Revelation 21:1-3 We ourselves can be home-makers with God as we wait for the homecoming of God.

2 Corinthians 4:16-5:10 Paul feels the pain of separation from what he considers his true home. Home is where Christ is, and he gives us his Spirit so we can experience that home even now.

Join us this week as Dr. Brown begins his three week series entitled "God at Home." God is at work making a home for His presence. He desires to be with us so that he can show us who we are, repair what's been broken, and announce it to the world.

This week we follow Dr. Batson as he shows us who is in control of the script. Like all the other players in the drama, we want to control the Christ, too, telling Him what to do.  But He refuses us, just like He refused them.  Instead, He becomes uncontrollable, maybe even unmanageable, as the ruling and reigning Messiah.  In the end, He looks to all and invites us into His drama where He controls the shots.  “Come,” He says, “die with Me and then rise with Me from the dead.”

John 19:26-30 When Jesus says “It is finished,” He is saying He has accomplished the will of the Father; our debt has been paid; our sins have been forgiven; and we are freed from the power of death.

1 John 2:28-3:4 John’s epistle teaches us that those who remain in Christ receive a new relationship marked by resemblance.

Matthew 20:29-34 Only the blind and broken crowd to Jesus and are healed. Until we get past our pride, He cannot help.

Matthew 13:44-46 This week Dr. Batson leads us through Matthew 13 where we see Jesus teaching, using the parable of the pearl of great price. The man in our story gave everything he had for that pearl. Are we giving our all?

Mark 10:46-52 Our “Misunderstanding” series concludes with a second healing. It takes a blind man “by the way” to reveal what happens when you see Jesus clearly.

Matthew 4:17, 23 Join us as Dr. Batson speaks on waiting and worrying. In our scripture the Kingdom of God had arrived, the Messiah was here that Israel had been waiting for, so what was there to worry about?

Mark 10:32-45 In week 5 of our Misunderstanding series, two disciples reveal the heart of all twelve. In their odd request, they reveal four misconceptions about discipleship.

Mark 9:9-37 In week 4 of our Misunderstanding series, Jesus takes three disciples up the mountain to remind them that the Christ of the cross is still the God of glory and takes them down the mountain to say that the Majestic Messiah is still the Suffering Servant.

Mark 2:23-3:6 The sabbath was made for man, and not the man for Sabbath. The legalistic religious leaders were focused on outward piety/rule keeping rather than true holiness. They were so focused on catching others in the act of sin, their own black hearts escaped them.

This week, Dr. Brown begins his new series from the book of Mark. In Mark 8:13-21, Jesus asks his disciples, “Do you not yet understand?” Throughout the gospel of Mark, Jesus corrects the disciples’ misunderstandings, teaching about the way of the Messiah. In John 8 we meet a woman caught in adultery. Jesus forgives her but both she and the crowd have to process this grace. How do we get past our shame and "Go and sin no more?"
