    Presented in conjunction with the Museum's exhibition 'Object Factory: The Art of Industrial Ceramics,' the Museum together with Design Onscreen present Hella Jongerius: Contemporary Archetype, a documentary exploring the design approach of the acclaimed Dutch designer. The half-hour film, created by filmmaker Amie Knox, explores Jongerius' design process through interviews with the designer and her assistants, the manufacturers of her designs and the curators and retailers who admire her work.\r Jongerius, who is regarded as one of the most innovative and creative designers working today, works on the cusp of design, craft, art and technology to fuse traditional and contemporary influences.     In conjunction with the exhibition Klaus Moje: Painting with Glass, Klaus Moje joins MAD Chief Curator David Revere McFadden for a dialogue about his expansive career and his role in the innovation of the fused-glass technique. A major force in the international studio glass movement, Klaus Moje has pushed the expressive and technical possibilities of glass for more than five decades. Born in Germany, Moje first began his life-long exploration of the material in the early 1950s as a glass cutter and grinder at the Moje family workshop in Hamburg. During the 1960s and 1970s, Moje explored the expressive potential of glass as an art form in its own right and began exhibiting internationally. In 1982 Moje emigrated to Australia to become the founding Head of the Glass Workshop at the Canberra School of Art. Moje has taught regularly at the annual Pilchuck Glass School in the United States since 1979 and has conducted innumerable workshops around the world. His work is held in more than 50 pub

    Kate Stohr is co-founder and program director of Architecture for Humanity. As she explains in this podcast, she worked with Herreast Harrison's Guardians Institute, a New Orleans-based organization whose mission is to uphold the distinct cultural traditions of New Orleans, promote literacy and encourage physical well-being, and architect Jens Holm of the Rockwell Group to create a new home for the Institute after Katrina. Kate also speaks to her experience in the disaster's aftermath in rebuilding homes in New Orleans and Biloxi.   • Robert Arneson Conservation

    Robert Arneson's "Alice House Wall," 1967, is a massive mural composed of 39 individual ceramic bricks. The individual elements sit on top of each other without any external support, and so the piece has always been difficult to exhibit and store. This piece will have a prominent place outside of the auditorium at the museum's new building at 2 Columbus Circle, and so we are restoring it to its original condition. This piece features conversations with MAD registrar Linda Clous and conservators Leslie Gat and Linsly Boyer. Conservation of "Alice House Wall" was made possible by a generous grant from the Henry Luce Foundation.

    Recording of Professor Neumann's April 3 lecture on the history of architectural illumination. Summary: Since the illumination of the Eiffel Tower in 1889, architectural lighting has completely transformed the way we perceive and navigate our cities. Professor Dietrich Neumann will speak about the history of architectural illumination, and the use of electrical lighting a "new building material." Neumann will present the debates that accompanied this development and discuss historic and contemporary examples including the pivotal Chicago Tribune building, whose architect, Raymond Hood, coined the phrase "architecture of the night." "Architecture of the Night" was also the title and subject of an acclaimed international exhibition Neumann curated for the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart and the Netherlands Architecture Institute in Rotterdam, where it was shown until May 2007.
