The moon gives us peace because it gives us distance and stillness and silence. It lets us realise that the universe is friendly, that time is our partner and that ‘nothing ever goes wrong in my life’. All of our restlessness, our anxiety, our anger comes from our conflict with life itself. We do not believe that our expectations are being met, that other people are not being the mirror image of ourselves, we do not trust life and so we try to force it. As you breathe and gaze upon the beautiful full moon. Let yourself relax and just be here, now. That is, if you have thoughts or regrets or even sorrow or shame from your past – for now just place them to the side. If you have ambitions about the future, or even anxiety or fear about what might be coming, or you are waiting for something – for now just let them all be.
