The eldest of five children, Chris Ategeka found himself orphaned at age 7 as Africa’s AIDS epidemic claimed the lives of both his parents. For the next few years, Chris struggled to balance schoolwork with the responsibilities of helping to care for himself and his younger siblings. A fortunate series of events allowed Ategeka to soon move be adopted by an American, and to later attend UC Berkeley, where he would earn a pair of degrees in mechanical engineering and study for a third. Chris founded a nonprofit company that is saving lives, one ride at a time.  Check out this episode to hear Chris talk about:   - His experiences as a child living in Uganda - Ho
