Homily from the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time The apostles always had something to say to Jesus, except when they started comparing themselves to each other to see who was the greatest. When their focus shifted from Jesus to themselves they had nothing left to say to the Son of God. We easily fall into the same temptations. All too often we compare ourselves to other people, especially in the spiritual life. Yet when we compare we lose focus of the particular call the Lord has given to each of us.
