Evangelical Disciple

Homily from the Solemnity of All Saints. Jesus gives us a "blue print" for how to become a saint by teaching us to live out the Beatitudes. We can look to the saints who have gone before us and see how they carried out the Beatitudes in their lives. Of course, this looked different for each saint, and rightfully so. However, at the base of their holiness, we can find the same Beatitude: Blessed are the Clean of Heart. Their hearts were set on serving the Lord before anyone else. Their hearts desired to be pure before the Lord, always living lives of integrity and selflessness. Our hearts need to be the same if we want to become saints. When our hearts are clean, we will see clearly how to live out the other Beatitudes.
