SAVE - Suicide Voices of Education?s mission is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, reduce stigma and serve as a resource for those touched by suicide. SAVE is one of only 10 national agencies in the country to be solely dedicated to the prevention of suicide. Since 1989, through our small staff and 215 volunteers providing over 5,444 hours of volunteer service in 2007 alone, we have developed a respected organization in the field of suicide prevention. Using a public health model, SAVE?s public awareness campaigns, community-based education and resources have been preventing suicide nationally for nearly 20 years.
