  • LHRL® #190

    30/07/2020

https://youtu.be/44ye23Au560 Lift Heavy Run Long® #190 in full force. He we go: Von says do ditch social media altogether. Amanda has no use for it. Thirsty doesn't even has Facebook on his phone. Wilson still enjoys it...kinda. Garmin has been hit with ransomware and most of us think that Swanson is responsible. We discuss how we THINK it works and how it should be handled. We also talk about why things like Garmin and posting on social media is important. As usual, we don't follow any real path but the conversation is always entertaining, light-hearted.

  • LHRL® #189 with Nugget Johnson

    16/07/2020

https://youtu.be/6F53PJLNnTI On the Lift Heavy Run Long® Podcast #189 we had our old friend Nugget Johnson. Nugget is back in the United States after spending some time as a radio DJ in Dubai. We wanted to sit down with Nugget and talk about....nothing in particular. That is why we like him so much. He is an interesting, funny, and engaging guy who makes us all laugh. My favorite thing about the LHRL podcast is its lack of direction. I enjoy getting with friends to talk about whatever it is that we feel like discussing. I doubt that you will find this podcast any more or any less educational than the others but we hope that you find some enjoyment in it, nonetheless.

  • LHRL® #188

    08/07/2020

https://youtu.be/gGB4dzdo334 We are back in the saddle with Lift Heavy Run Long® #188. Here is a rundown of how this shook out: Amanda is back regular at Olive Branch CrossFit and pretty she will not survive after tonight's workout. Von constructs his COVID-free trust circle of friends and we all want to be on the list. Thirsty covers himself in poison oak after doing yardwork against Katie's better advice. Wilson had a sore throat...which he decided was COVID...then had a leaking CPAP drying out his eyes...which he googled to be pink-eye...then WebMD said that 1% of COVID patients have pink-eye, so he will likely die soon. As usual, we derail on an unrelated topic. This week was COVID as if you don't already hear enough about that. However, if you listen to us regularly, you go into it knowing that we are probably going to waste your time and you will be no better because of it.

    25/06/2020

https://youtu.be/GtsA58hkMh0 On this episode of the Lift Heavy Run Long® Podcast, we went deeper than usual. Here is how it went down: Daniela Krauss clarified that "double pepperoni" is more than "extra pepperoni", so remember that. Katie Maxwell was rightfully offended that Beefcake was bold enough to refer to microwave bologna as fried bologna when clearly that was in error. Big Thirsty wants to know exactly how much of a tip is required to actually get the pizza people to double the amount of pepperoni's added. Jacked and Tan feels sympathy for Beefcake because they did not teach him to use chopsticks in public. Her theory is that he never learned to tie his shoes and that is why he wears Crocs. The Reverend is on a "Looks and Fashion" trajectory that should have him working as a fashion model by 2021. Von also verbally and visually describes what a perfect weiner looks like.

    11/06/2020

https://youtu.be/aPzrcE2enOo On Lift Heavy Run Long® #186 we had our friend Dr. Brad Cole of Cole Pain Therapy Group. Dr. Cole is well known in the community for his treatment of pain on all kinds but more specifically he is well-known in the running and Crossfit community as a doctor who encourages movement and will do whatever he can to get you back to the hobbies that you enjoy with minimal downtime. Dr. Cole is a fun guy to talk to and has a great sense of humor. It is always nice to have professionals on the show who are both knowledgeable and fun. I think you will find him to be very "real" and would advise you to look to him if you have physical ailments that need to be addressed. You can find out all about Dr. Cole and his practice here: https://colepaintherapygroup.com/

    04/06/2020

https://youtu.be/5NxjwGPFcrw This week on the Lift Heavy Run Long® Podcast we had the privilege of sitting down with Tony Hendrix and Melissa Wagner to discuss their plans to document (and participate in) a 333-mile unsupported road race called The Last Annual Halfway to Hell race which is the brainchild of everyone's favorite masochist, Lazarus Lakes. The documentary is named Finding Hope and Tony and Melissa are on a mission to capture the wins, losses, and ranges of emotions that both athletes and everyday people share when participating in endurance races. Tony has an extensive background in film and video and will produce and amazing documentary if he is able to get all of the right people in all of the right places. We look forward to seeing the results of their efforts. Below is some information about the race and what you can do to support it. https://vimeo.com/421805828 https://www.gofundme.com/manage/finding-hope-halfway-to-hell-a-documentary

  • LHRL® #184

    21/05/2020

https://youtu.be/NTsWsp5L50U Lift Heavy Run Long® #184 was operating at almost full capacity. I encountered yet another audio hiccup in exchange for the betterment in some other areas. Big Thirsty cannot be heard for the first 5 minutes or so and for this, I am eternally apologetic. On episode 184: Von got an exciting new job offer working as a senior analyst! Amanda is giving away Lift Heavy Run Long M&M's in exchange for a St. Jude donation and accurately guessing how many M&M's are in the jar. I breed support life through my pandemic pajamas and discover a cocoon that has attached itself to my pants leg. Thirsty gets paid to be a dickhead. Sean "Run Bum" Blanton doesn't get paid to be a dickhead but some people clearly view him to be one. Westworld is too scary. Valdamoor is a hottie. There is a tee-shirt with Gary F-ing Owens on it which was created to raise money for his impending Covid death which he lived through. Now I need a shirt.

https://youtu.be/7CI07SIsric We are back! Wow, it has been a long time since our last podcast, and it show. We had all sorts of technical difficulties but thanks to the patience of all of the gang we were able to get through it and put out an episode...even if the quality might be a little sketchy. This week on Lift Heavy Run Long® #183: Everyone takes a dump on the Tiger King which I have been looking forward to talking about for 8 fucking weeks now. So, thanks a lot. Von gets his man-card by fixing air-conditioner. Amanda working night shift and getting her running mojo back....maybe. Thirsty says soon our future is augmented reality in the form of glasses. The LHRL® Virtual 10-miler was a great success and next year we will have commemorative tokens with Von's face on them. Nickel-Vons...with a Nickelback. 15th anniversary of Leroy Jenkins. We look forward to seeing y'all next week and we hope to have our act together by then!

    19/03/2020

https://youtu.be/3ODYzONH4zk Let's make this short and sweet. This week on the Lift Heavy Run Long® Podcast: Amanda wants to know why teenage boys lose their socks all the time. Wilson unsuccessfully tries not to make eye contact with Von before falling apart. Favorite snacks. Of course, the coronavirus. Dawn Stambaugh's profile picture of Katie and Wilson. The sun is out! Seasonal depression. Netflix documentaries (Wilson has great taste and the rest of them do not.) No meat at the grocery store. Von's trip to Disney. The ongoing Gif/Jif debate. Von is the only person to America to hate Ranch dressing. Because of this, he is unhappy and he takes it out on Wilson and his Crocs.

https://youtu.be/vhoTUM0WPvA Lift Heavy Run Long® #181 with the fabulous Hollie Trim. This week Von is on vacation with his family so we went in search of someone awesome who would uplift us and keep us entertained. The decisions was simple- Hollie Trim. She is incredibly awesome. Here is what went down on #181: Hollie brought gifts!! (Amanda got a Harry Potter journal. Thirsty got a whiskey glass. Wilson got a personalized peanut Butter Spoon!!!!!!!) The coronavirus Can you wear a race shirt from a race you didn't run/finish? When is a banana peel littering? Impossible Burger Man vs Snake- riveting documentary about the world record Nibbler score holder. Heaven sakes? Heaven's sake? Heaven's sakes? • LHRL® #180

    27/02/2020

https://youtu.be/HV5pqRh86Gc Lift Heavy Run Long® continues to establish itself as the industry's leading source of information which has little to do with the industry and is full of bad information. This is what we discussed: Swanson builds a fence, the old-fashioned way. Von wants to help, Wilson does not. Womahawk got us a new clapboard cause Von blatantly broke the other one Who knew that Lent was a trigger for some people. LHRL Grenade Launcher weekend. Working the door for a band is a terrible job.

    08/01/2020

https://youtu.be/srHz1gmGfmk This week on the Lift Heavy Run Long® Podcast we are back in full swing after an awesome holiday season. Everyone is so stoked about 2020 and the energy is good. On episode #174  we had our favorite guest, Gary Owens and we discuss the following: NordicTrack continues to suck. 6 weeks into a service call/warranty issue and no one has addressed it. They actually fired the last service tech that was scheduled to repair. Big Thirsty gets everyone's goals for the new year. Gary Owens officially kinda announces his attempt to break the 100mile record at Tunnel Hill in 2020. We read one review and save the other one...because having reviews is awesome. Wilson got glasses but can't see out of them. Not sure it is supposed to work that way. Are mexican cokes healthier than 'merican cokes? We ramble on about some other fitness stuff but it's all pretty stupid, really....but you already knew that.
