During the last month, we learned the power that words have on others. It is noteworthy that Jesus says we are judged by how we use our words. So how can we use our words in the most positive way? Join Andy as he brings out lessons from the Paul's motivational letter to the Christians at Colassae as well as a wonderful story where Jesus bucks expectations of judgemental words and instead uses encouraging word to heal.

Sometimes, we assume that all it takes is one touch of Jesus for everything to be as it should be. However, in Mark Eight we find an account of two touches of Jesus being required. So the question is, “What’s the bench-mark for knowing if another touch is required?” The answer is, if we see anything like, “Men as trees walking,” obviously our Lord truly desires to give us the required additional touch. There’s a lot of action going on in Mark Eight, including feelings of deja vu, the usual wisenheimers, warnings about the leaven inherent in wisenheimers, one particularly really excellent answer, one particularly really awful rebuke, one major wake-up call, topped off with a extremely concise summary of what Jesus requires of his disciples. Mark Eight was written over two thousand years ago, but its lessons are timeless. Come and share in the action.

On this Mother's Day we would like to honor the sisters in our church by talking about two very special women in Jesus' life, his good friends Martha and her sister Mary. Martha, of course, was the older and busier sister. She spent her time scurrying about the house, preparing an exquisite dinner for Jesus during his visit, while Mary spent her time sitting at Jesus' feet hanging on to every word he spoke. "This Sunday will be set aside in much of Christendom to commemorate the mighty power of our God that was brought to bear when He raised His Son from the grave and declared once for all that death does not reign supreme! 1 Thess. 5:17 "Never stop praying." Prayer is an interesting topic. Lots of religions do it. People who aren't religious, but spiritual do it. It is one of those things, that even in this day and age is so pervasive most of us think we understand it. Do we? This is not something you should take lightly or something you should be casual about. It is life. It is life giving. It is fundamental.

Godly Sorrow Brings Repentance At one time or another we've all experienced some "guilt" in our life. Where does it come from? Does it have a place in a Christian's life? Scripture shows us that guilt can be both positive and negative. We just need to recognize the difference between positive and negative guilt.
