Jesus has freed us from our sin and freed us to serve God! Free in Him, we can be thankful, joyful, and peaceful, not living for God because we have to, but because we want to.

Paul loved the Galatians dearly, but false teachers were trying to pull them away from Jesus and take them back to following the Law. They were trying to get them to be followers of themselves. Many brilliant teachers exist, who may look smart, sophisticated, loving, and spiritual, but far fewer genuinely love you, teach true Biblical doctrine, and point you to Jesus.

Some were teaching the Galatians that keeping the law brought spiritual maturity. In reality, the law could never make you righteous, and trying to keep the law takes you backwards to spiritual childishness. In Christ, we have received God’s perfect righteousness Learning to live out the life that Christ has put in us is real maturity.
