My name is Leroy Edwards III. I was born and raised in Vineland, NJ and still reside there. I came from a good family and I never lacked anything. I got plenty of Love, nice clothes, roof over my head, and plenty of toys and friends. My mother was the center of my world, but I can't say the same for my father who wasn't around that frequent. It never really bothered me that I didn't see him much, because I knew he had a decent heart. It wasnt until I was 21 and watched him die of an overdose that i discovered he had a great heart. Both him and my grandfather had issues with drugs that I had no knowledge of until they were both dead. It's funny how I can stop the lineage of one addiction, but start up a whole new one. Even though drug addiction is a big deal, pornography addiction can be just as destructive in other parts of your life. Even though porn couldn't physically kill, it could kill relationships, it could kill the proper way to perceive women, it could kill tons of precious time to spend on other t

HOPE FOR LIBERIA - Eli Gbayee - Episode 24
    Duração: 55min | 07/07/2016

I was separated from my parents at the tender age of four years old as we ran for safety during the civil war that took place in 1989 in my home country, Liberia, Africa. I found myself at a refugee camp; hungry, lost and scared with no idea if my parents survived or not. I was on my own and had to take my survival into my own hands – and, of course, God’s hands. I was often starving and not knowing from where my next meal would come. I remember when I had to walk from my country, Liberia, to Sierra Leone Freetown Board Waterside and didn’t eat for weeks during that time. My baby's head was growing for my gestation and they could not tell me why. No one had an answer for me. My baby, Tina, was born C-section four-weeks early on Augu

There is a pain like no other when you witness your loved ones struggle with their own pain. I am one of the “Lost Boys of Sudan," a name given to over 20,000 boys of the Nuer and Dinka ethnic groups who were displaced and/or orphaned during the Second Sudanese Civil War (1983–2005), a war in which 2.5 million people were killed or displaced. I am originally from Bor, in a small village in South Sudan. In 1987 when I was six years old, my village was attacked by an insurgent group from North Sudan, led by Omar al-Bashir. The attack left the majority of people dead and many were dispersed. Huts and livestock were burned. I still recall the sound of the gunshots and the screams of the people begging for help. This was the first time in my life that I experienced and understood the meaning of fear. I was young, confused and scared. This was also the moment that separated me from my family for a few hours, which has turned into two decades. I remember thinking that I would return home once the attackers left. Unfortunately home is still a far off place. I fled my village and thus began my journey as a re
