The bridge lyrics state "Like tomorrow was a gift and you've got eternity to think about what you do with it, what could you do with it?" Actually we will have all eternity to evaluate how we traded our days. Was it for temporary pursuits and pleasures or the things that cause heaven to celebrate? Come and listen!

The man who can pray can do anything, for prayer can do anything that God can do, and God can do anything. And, our desperate need in these days is to link our lives with the omnipotent God who has called upon us and told us to pray. And, Jesus said, “ask, and ye shall receive” (John 16:24). Sunday, February 10, 2013, Poet Robert Browning wrote, “Love is the energy of life.” The Bible says where God is, love is, for God is love. All of these 15 colors (descriptions) and hues of the spectrum of love we find in this passage are verbs in the original Greek. What this means is that love is not simply a feeling, or an abstraction or passive; love is active. Love is only love when it acts (1 John 3:18). So we should do all the good we can, to all the people we can, for as long as we can. Come and see!

God takes love and passes it through Paul’s inspired intellect and it comes out broken down into its elements [14 descriptions listed in pairs]. In these few words we have what one might call The Spectrum of The God's Gift of Love. Will you observe what its elements are? James doesn't say who is a rich man among you, or who is an educated man among you, or who is a popular among you, or who is a busy or ambitious man among you. But, James, looking for a leader in the church says, “Who is a wise man among you.” And, James like all of the writers of the Bible, puts a great, great, premium upon wisdom. Grace vs or+ Works - Some people think that they can explain it when they say being saved is like trying to cross a stream in a rowboat. If you pull on one oar, which is works, you will just go around in a circle this way. If you pull on the other oar, which is grace, you will just go in a circle this way. But if you take both oars, you will just cross the stream. It is a wonderful illustration but it has a fatal flaw. To find out....come and see!

Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, Jammin' with James #1, How to Pass the Tests of Life - James 1:1-4~ I heard of a young man who had taken his test at college and he’d made a zero. He went in to see the professor, and he argued with the professor. He said, “Professor, I don’t think I deserved this zero.” And the professor said, “Neither do I, son, but it was the lowest grade I had.” Now, maybe you are failing just that miserably in the test of life. But, God does have some tests, some examinations, and we’re going to have to learn how to make a passing grade. And, I hope some of us today will learn how to make an A plus-plus.

One minute you are up and the next you are hanging on for dear life. Obviously God didn't design or call us to live this way, so what is the solution for consistent courage? No one’s life reveals the secret and confesses the weakness better than Elijah. Elijah felt all alone and at first he proclaims it like it is some NOBLE virtue – but in the end the tidal wave of fear comes crashing down around him. I think like many of us he stared in the chaotic litany of events that we call life and asked a few basic Questions: 1) Where is God when I hurt?.... 2) Where is God when injustice seems to prevail? Does He not care? – Is He incapable? – there is a 3rd option – He is working through it all & He is not such a small God that He must be limited to only being sovereign as long as He hands out Sunshine and Rainbows to everyone.
