  • Progress in the Gospel-Oriented Life—Philippians 3:12–16

    22/02/2015

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. 16 Only let us hold true to what we have attained. (Philppians 3:12–16 ESV).

  • The Gospel and Government: How Should Christians Respond to Violations of their Rights?—Acts 16

    19/10/2014

Houston Mayor, Annise Parker, has issued subpoenas to five Christian pastors for “all speeches, presentations, or sermons related to ... homosexuality, or gender identity” among other things. There is an outcry from many that this is a flagrant violation of the First Amendment. How are Christians to respond when their rights as citizens, such as freedom of speech and religion, are violated? Pastor Aaron looks at the Apostle Paul in Acts 16 to help answer this question.

  • Is Christ Preached?—Philippians 1:15–18a

    05/10/2014

A popular Christian pastor is recommended to you by one friend but labelled a heretic by another. How can you tell which is which? The Apostle Paul condemned one group who preached a false gospel as “accursed” (Gal 1:9). But when another group preached Christ with selfish ambitions so as to harm Paul, he responds by saying: “whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice” (Phil 1:18). How do we know when a gospel is false or when to rejoice? Pastor Aaron discusses this in part six of Philippians.
