What does the Bible say about work? Should we quite quit if work gets too rough? Does God want us to participate in work reform? What if my job is my identity? What if I don't find meaning in work? Guess what? The God created work to be a good, valuable, and rewarding thing, but we live in a broken world where we can be consumed by workaholism or chewed up and spit out and left with the feeling that work is not valuable. What if our job is legitimately treating us unfairly? As believers in Jesus our role is to be renewed by Jesus and to help reform our relationship with work and those around us even in the tough situations. Why would the writers of the gospels include embarrassing details, accounts from people who, in their time, people wouldn't want to listen too?

Barrabas was exchanged in Jesus' place. The perfect one changed for a murderer and insurrectionist. Let's explore the deeper connections to the larger narrative of scripture this morning as Paster Steve continues in our Lent series into Holy Week this Easter.
